Glasstec, this year framed with the slogan Let's go live, returns and closes with record figures that support its celebration by the glass society. Turomas, Spanish manufacturer of machinery for the storage, loading and cutting of glass, participated as an exhibitor after four years of waiting.
During the four days of the trade fair, from 20 to 23 September, more than 30,000 visitors from over 120 countries came to Düsseldorf to convince themselves of the innovative power of this industry.
In keeping with the trade fair motto, TUROMAS wanted everyone who visited the stand to be able to “experience glass” and “experience the TUROMAS product”. To this end, during the 4 days of the fair it opened its stand, opened its halls and opened its machines so that all visitors could enjoy first hand the latest developments that demonstrate new and exciting opportunities for the Spanish company.
In this edition, TUROMAS was represented by Miguel Tomás, President of TUROMAS; Antonio Ortega, General Manager; Álvaro Tomas, Vice President; Álvaro Doñate, Sales Director for Spain and Portugal, Oriol Llorens, Sales Director for Europe; Rodrigo Duarte, Juan Dávila, Sales Delegate in Colombia, Eduardo Nieto, Sales Delegate in Chile and Teresa Catalán, Marketing Manager.
In addition, this year the R+D+I team has joined the fair, with Miguel Ángel Guillén as Team Manager; Javier Silva, Ángel Silva and José Solsona.
TUROMAS would also like to thank the presence of the TUROMAS sales and distribution network, who were present at the stand throughout the fair and made the team even stronger, offering greater and more personalised customer service.
The business team is satisfied with the attendance and reception of the fair. The participation of TUROMAS has been very gratifying, in addition to making known the advances, innovations and trends, commercial relations have also been strengthened.
It has consolidated the image of a reliable and high quality company that we have been working on since previous years. This was reflected in the number of former customers who came to say hello and the large number of potential customers interested in fully automated solutions.
Most of the visitors TUROMAS received were from Europe, although there were also representatives from Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, among others.

"Several projects have been closed in Argentina, Mexico, Cyprus, South Africa and the largest project in our history in Ireland. There has also been a large attendance of our LATAM customers, especially in Mexico with a large number of companies and large projects. We have also had very important meetings with some of the main companies from India, Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The fair has undoubtedly been the best in our history in terms of results and quality of visits."

"Companies in countries where we were not present until recently are now familiar with TUROMAS as a reliable and high quality machine. For example, live demonstrations of 8+8 glass cutting with our compact laminated cutting machine, which achieves a cutting time of less than 50 seconds in 8+8 and an exceptional cutting quality. Something that has not left indifferent many of the small glass processors who have thanked us for bringing to the fair a machine for this large group of glassmakers. On the other hand, special mention should be made of the shuttle + loading and cutting table solution for jumbo sheets, whose reduced space and the performance offered in terms of time was overwhelming. The software shown at the fair, together with the live demonstrations of EasyPro glass pickling, were the icing on the cake, delighting all glass processors who know the limits currently offered by the market and who have seen how Turomas has surpassed them by far. At glasstec, TUROMAS presented the main technologies for smart storage, loading and automatic glass cutting as well as the new software suite. All this, through live demonstrations and customised for each customer creating a unique and close experience with each of them.
Storage and loading system for glass up to 6 metres long, capable of working with any type of coating and thicknesses from 1.8 mm to 25 mm. The shuttle transports the fully loaded trestles without stopping between two positions, significantly reducing the cycle time.
These systems are particularly notable for their modular construction, which allows them to grow as the company grows, and for their almost unlimited capacity to adapt to the size and distribution of the space, dotting the columns and even working between different warehouses.
Alongside the SR-06 system, RUBI 406VA, the first stand-alone cutting table incorporating a 6-metre cutting bridge, was on display. Its innovative design allows the automatic loading, cutting and evacuation of jumbo glass, ensuring maximum productivity and automation in the smallest possible space. The automatic loader is integrated into the structure of the cutting table itself, allowing loading directly from the SR-06’s trestle. Optimising processes in just 35m², generating a great economic and logistical benefit for the customer.
The RUBI 406VA features new, stronger, more reliable and faster loading arms that incorporate a new instant separation system that eliminates the problems associated with the glass sheet separation process.
With this new design, loading speed and time are significantly improved, reducing loading time to a minimum without compromising safety in any way.
The cutting bridge has been specially designed by the TUROMAS engineering team and is made of extruded aluminium, a lightweight material that allows for greater speed and acceleration.
ACR, Advanced Coating Removal, a new generation of pickling system capable of meeting the needs of today’s market: maximum quality in a wide range of coatings, has also been presented.
It incorporates patented innovations that improve the glass stripping process, such as the Advanced Cooling System or the two-stage stripping system that prevents the edges of the protective layer from peeling off.
In addition, the equipment includes a high-flow three-phase hoover for the collection of residues, thus eliminating them completely from the surface.
In combination with the RUBI 406VA, a cutting table for laminated glass model LAM 304 has been exhibited, forming a mixed line capable of processing both types of glass.
The LAM304 is a cutting solution for laminated glass focused on companies looking for a versatile machine that provides high quality and performance. Thanks to its compact design, the line can cut a dimension of 3700mm and a glass thickness of up to 10+10mm.

TUROMAS has presented a suite of programs based on Industry 4.0. These applications understand and analyse the operation of the equipment from the data provided by the machines themselves.
StockGlass, supervises and controls in real time the stock of multiple automated warehouses. StoreGlass, manages the stock of material in a non-automated warehouse. TuromasLink, integrates TUROMAS’ intelligent warehouse data with the main ERP solutions on the market. LinkGlass, fully automates the production sequence, avoiding operator intervention in the work order selection and loading sequence processes. Cutting TV, an application that allows the automatic visualisation of optimisations. At a glance, the operator has all the information necessary for the cutting process. TuromasSplitter, optimises the laminate cutting time by balancing the work between two cutting bridges. SmartGlass, allows to visualise statistics of productivity, availability, efficiency, effectiveness, working hours, processes, materials and to generate reports.
